Nice One, Amazon!
And I don’t mean that sarcastically. Today they have Queen’s album “News of the World” on sale as an MP3 download for $1.99. That’s the album with “We Are the Champions” on it. I’m pretty sure they would have run the same special if McCain won yesterday. Continue reading
Futurama: “Bender’s Game”
“Futurama” unfortunately never got the love that “The Simpsons” gets, but I’m still grateful for the fact that Fox gave the show another chance in the form of four direct-to-DVD releases ( "Futurama – Bender’s Big Score" , "Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs" , "Futurama: Bender’s Game" , and the forth-coming “Into the Wild Green Yonder”). … I’m excited to see the traditional system of studios depending on television networks for distribution changing, and I’m very interested in seeing more productions get into the hands of consumers through alternate channels, whether the channel be DVD, iTunes, satellite or some other distribution media. Having more ways to get to media means that we have more choices, and that things that may not have made sense to a television network given its ad-supported revenue model and limited competitive programming slots, may have another chance at life. … Add “Futurama: Bender’s Big Score” to your Netflix queue Add “Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs” to your Netflix queue Add “Futurama: Bender’s Game” to your Netflix queue Continue reading

Instead, “Bloom” allows me to anesthetize (or lobotomize) myself with a mini-Eno, embedded in my iPhone, happy to produce ambient music on demand or from my cue. … Tap out a few notes and it will play them back, looping them into a piece of ambient fuzz that could just as well be a song from "Music for Airports" . You can freeze the melody from evolving if you like it, but there are no provisions for saving, recording or sharing it, which is just as well. Continue reading

Keeping Your Warcraft Addons Up To Date
While I’m on the subject of World of Warcraft, I want to take a moment to mention the software I use to keep the add-ons I use up to date. … The set I use started out as “GrimPack” from “GrimPickle” – it’s a good set of add-ons which have been tested with one another (and in some cases fixed to work better together). You can download it from http://www.grimpickle.com If you install it, the first time you start World of Warcraft afterwards, your screen will probably be a complete mess. … Once you’ve got a good set of add-ons working for you, you can use WoWMatrix to keep them up to date.
