The Crazies
I’d been wanting to see the remake of ‘The Crazies’ for a while (though Timothy Olyphant needs to start taking roles that aren’t law enforcement officers), and with Mike being sick and nothing planned it seemed a good night for it.
…The basic plot of ‘The Crazies’ is that something happens in a small town which starts people acting erratically and then violently. … I remember seeing the original a few years ago, though it was so low budget (and perhaps the transfer was so bad) that most of what I remember of it is the massive headache I got from watching it. … And I enjoyed finding the theater lobby empty, as I left the movie that featured an empty, wrecked town. TV’s back
A few of the things coming on that I think friends are interested in: “Weeds” returns tonight on Showtime, and this year it’s paired with “Nurse Jackie”, which looks interesting although isn’t getting great reviews There’s no new season of “Top Chef” this summer; we’re getting “Top Chef Masters” (starting on Wednesday June 10th) instead, which is “Top Chef” with established chefs (some of whom have been judges on the regular show) and a different team. … Merely by the way Fox has treated it so far, most people have written off its chances of going to series already, but it should be interesting to watch as a stand-alone piece. … is coming back to the SciFi (sorry, SyFy) channel on Friday, July 10th (yes, no more Tuesday night “Eureka!”). And “Warehouse 13″ is SyFy’s (I really just want to not write their name at all, this seems like baby talk) new show which sounds like a stock weekly formula type show, warehouse full of artifacts, lots and lots of genre guest stars.
